1- Fundamentals – BBT Stock

First things first, let’s learn a bit about BB&T Bank and their BBT stock.

Who the heck are they? BB&T Corporation is a financial holding company that provides various banking and trust services for retail and commercial clients. It operates in six segments: Community Banking, Residential Mortgage Banking, Dealer Financial Services, Specialized Lending, Insurance Services, and Financial Services.

Who are their competitors? Basically majority of banks and financial services in the US! That includes Bank Of America Corporation, Bank Of New York Mellon Corp, Cit Group Inc, etc.

What are they doing differently?  BB&T reported total revenue increase in the 3 quarter 2016 by 11.79 % year on year.  According to CSIMarket, BB&T’s sales growth was above its competitors average revenue growth of 7.28 %, recorded in the same quarter.

What’s going on in their company structure?  BB&T Corp. announced on Wednesday that its chief operating officer has been promoted to also serve as president of the corporation and its banking subsidiary, Branch Banking and Trust Company.

How could Trump presidency impact BBT stock? During the U.S. Presidential race, Donald Trump stated that he would get rid of the Dodd-Frank Act and destroy the Wall Street Reform. If this occurs, banks and financial services such as BB&T could benefit and make certain speculative investments. This explains why BBT and other financial sectors rallied after he won the presidency.

What’s next? No body knows as Trump is incredibly unpredictable. However, so far financial services are still more likely to gain from him, unless something crazy happens.

Why Big Tech Is Quietly Buying Western Digital (WDC) Stock

Western Digital Corporation (WDC) has been on a tear, its stock price soaring over 270% year-to-date as of early December 2025.

This massive growth isn’t just hype; it’s fueled by a perfect storm of events, including the strategic spin-off of its flash business, SanDisk, and an insatiable global demand for data storage driven by the AI revolution.

As a now “pure-play” Hard Disk Drive (HDD) manufacturer, WDC is uniquely positioned as the landlord for the internet’s exploding data. But with such a meteoric rise, is there still room for growth, or is the stock overheated?
